The Collaboration

Salty Swimwear is a local Gold Coast business that collaborates each year with an Aboriginal artist to create Indigenous swimwear collections celebrating art, storytelling and connection to Country.

In 2024, Taylor Lee Scollay of Ochre Sisters collaborated with Salty Swimwear to bring her artwork and story to life through this collection. 10% of profits from the Indigenous collection is donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, supporting literacy and language programs for Indigenous communities.

The Story — Salty Footprints

Salty Footprints tells a story of our connection to the ocean and its ecosystem, and the way our communities interact with Sea Country.

The footprints represent the growth, change and experiences we encounter throughout our journeys, while the rainbow arch represents the happiness and joy the ocean brings to our souls.

The turtle, palm tree and sea flowers represent the fragile ecosystem that surrounds us. At the centre, the meeting place brings together children, women, mothers and Elders, representing the bonds, knowledge and care that connect us to the ocean.
