Drift Of Our Elders

Limited Edition Collab Between

Good Throw Co x Taylor-Lee (Ochre Sisters)

Each throw is thoughtfully designed to be fully reversible — the same artwork, reimagined in a complementary colourway on the reverse, offering two distinct looks in one.

Woven from recycled cotton, our throws are both durable and beautifully soft, designed for everyday use and machine washable for ease. Every piece is accompanied by a keepsake story card, featuring the original artwork, the artist, and the story behind the design.

However you choose to style it, your throw is made to be lived with and loved. From beach days and picnics, to layered over your bed or draped across your lounge, each piece brings warmth, texture and a sense of artistry into your space. It can even be styled as a statement tablecloth or wall hanging — a true textile artwork.

We love seeing our pieces out in the world — feel free to share yours with us.

The Story Behind The Art

The Drift of Our Elders is a piece inspired by the passing down of knowledge, culture and tradition. It is an illustration of how our cultural values and learning seamlessly intertwine. Displayed at the bottom of the artwork is my representation of elders, who are connected side by side. From the elders, an abundant river of knowledge flows across the piece as a reflection of the continuous drift of learning. Depicted in the centre is a sacred yarning circle, a prominent symbol of discussion, sharing and a place to create enriched relationships. Surrounding the circle are children, women, men and elders all gathered together to tell the stories of the land, the seas and the sky. These stories are displayed through the palm tree, the turtle and the moon. Together these symbols, colour palette and ochre textures tell the story of ‘The Drift of Our Elders’.

 About The Artist

Taylor-Lee is a new and upcoming Indigenous artist from the southern Gold Coast. She’s a proud young Kungadidji 16 year old who loves to surf, skate and paint. Often her art pieces will reflect this passion with ocean features, blue hues or boho pastels.

In 2023 Taylor-Lee’s artwork she designed for Naidoc Week was one of six highly commended art pieces chosen by the Qld government. Not long after this she then went on to win the Young, Black & Proud Scholarship for her art.

Taylor-Lee has since worked hard between her school work and surfing, designing new pieces that she sells on Instagram known as Ochre_Sisters in name of her and her younger indigenous sister.
